I got a new mpb and moved to Mountain Lion from Snow Lion.
Every time a new song starts in iTunes a small pop-up window appears displaying the name of the new song. I'm not sure if this is a new feature in iTunes 11.0.4 or whether another app such as adobe or you control added this lovely little feature but I'd really love to turn it off.
Does anyone know anything about this? My apple/google searches came up butkus!

Ever installed any itunes plugins?
What do you see in /Library/iTunes/iTunes Plugins and ~/Library/iTunes/iTunes Plugins? By default, you'll only see Quartz Composer Visualizer in the former.
Ever installed anything called "Now Playing"?

It appears near the bottom of the screen. It fades out after 6 seconds. I checked the itunes plugins folder in both Libraries. Only the Quartz Composer Visualizer is in the plugin.
No, I never installed Now Playing.

Click iTunes -> preferences -> General -> Under "Notifications", uncheck "when song changes"
