You're whole post is a little bit confusing. Are you trying to download apps from iTunes on the computer? You can't download apps from iTunes on the iPad. You have to use the App Store. Therefore, copying and pasting a URL in Safari will not work.

Maybe you should clarify a little bit.

Hi Demo,

Yes, I have not made myself clear, I apologise.

I have tried downloading apps from itunes in order to set up a game for my son, when I go to click on a link, be this in itunes, or on the web, Safari revolts back informing the address is invalid. I read by coping a link and pasting into the URL, this would do it, but not so.

My goal then, is to install Minecraft for my son, I would then download an app to allow this but I am unable to get this far due to Safari insulting the address I ask it to go to 🙂

The iPad is first generation

OS 5.1.1 Software up to date.

Thank you in advance for your time

This still has me confused. You cannot download apps from iTunes on the iPad. You have to use the App Store. If you are trying to download an app in Safari, that is not going to work.

You can download apps in iTunes on your computer and sync them to the iPad, but that is not how I am reading your post and that is where the confusion lies for me.

Thank you for your reply. To be clear the following is the address of the app store

http://www.apple.com/uk/ipad/from-the-app-store/. Using the ipad i am trying to access the games app for which the ipad safari sees the address as invalid once i click on the game app icon

Given you said using a pc to download the app and syncing with the ipad, i assume this is where im going wrong.

Once more, thankyou for your help.

Use the App Store app on the iPad in order to download apps. You cannot download anything using Safari on the iPad except for photos and pdf files.

You can use iTunes on your computer to download apps - in the Apps section of the iTunes store. After you download the apps in iTunes, you will have to sync them to the iPad.
