SMS Mailbox full?

I keep getting a message saying my SMS Mailbox is full and that i cannot receive new ones until i delete some messages. Well ive deleted thousands of messages, however i am still getting this error message and i still cannot receive regular text messages. Does anyone know why and a solution to this problem?
