Whenever I download a free app from the App Store, a box will pop-up mentioning "Unable to download applications" How do I fix it?
iPad (4th gen) Wi-Fi, iOS 6.1
I had 4 apps that wouldn't update from the update menu on the app store. It kept saying "Failed to update at this time" with the option of "done" or "retry". So I deleted the apps and tried to re-download them from the cloud. "Unable to download the app at this time." I tried everything listed here and more. None of these solutions worked.
I had ONAVO PROTECT (vpn) app on my ipad 2. I thought maybe it was interfering, although it did not give me any problems for 2 months. I deleted ONAVO PROTECT from my iPad2 and then went to the cloud and re-downloaded all the apps.
I have done all of the above and nothing works
I tired all the above as we'll and nothing done , plz can any one help to sort this issue
Exact same issue, on all my devices i now am unable to download apps . Iphone 5, ipad 3, ipad 1
Error gone but the apps are still "waiting" - iPhone 4
I used a different tactic. I deleted the app, then reloaded it form the app store. To do this hold the app down until it starts shaking with an "X" in the upper left and corner, then touch the "X" and delete the app. Then go to the app store and search for the app (you many need to switch to the "Purchased" or another tab at the bottom to enable search, then click "Update" or "Install" to reinstall the app.
If you have an older ip or a slow network connection you may have to wait for few seconds in the App Store once you find your app. It may still give a status of "installing". The status should change to "update" or "install". Select either then if you go to the your last app page you should see your new app appear and it should start to load...
Have fun!
Make sure you have enough free space for the apps to download & install.
U guys can also try changing the dns that worked for me
THis might be the wifi issues..
try starting the download with cellular and then shift to wifi
there is almost never such problems with cellular..
ya but this trick wont work for big sized apps.
Simple Solution: In Wifi settings change the DNS to 8.8.8.8, that solved my problem. Please try!
Welcome to I asked why download when downloading software it does not have a computer ?
I Have a solution to this problem..
Go to your wifi settings and change your IP Address settings from dhcp to static
and note down dhcp IP settings
when you change it to static just change DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4 and all other fields should remain as DHCP settings
it will surely solve your problem.

in my experience i have only one way to fix the issue.. for example
if i'm unable to update an app by 3G i retry to download the update when i reach a WIFI connection
if i'm unable to update an app through my home wifi connection i have two option, trying to download the app using the 3G connection or using another WIFI connection, a pubblic one or one of a friend. this worked always for me.
