I Have a solution to this problem..

Go to your wifi settings and change your IP Address settings from dhcp to static

and note down dhcp IP settings

when you change it to static just change DNS Server to 8.8.8.8 or 4.4.4.4 and all other fields should remain as DHCP settings

it will surely solve your problem.

in my experience i have only one way to fix the issue.. for example

if i'm unable to update an app by 3G i retry to download the update when i reach a WIFI connection

if i'm unable to update an app through my home wifi connection i have two option, trying to download the app using the 3G connection or using another WIFI connection, a pubblic one or one of a friend. this worked always for me.

Do you get that error when using wifi or only when using your cellular data?

It 's also WiFi is error with data

Years later and Apple still has not fixed this??? This is why I avoid Apple products at all cost. Thank god this is a work device.

OMG! Switching to cellular helped me. I'd tried all sort of other tricks, and in the end switching off wifi got past it immediately. Thanks.

Changing the date worked with iOS 9.1. Amazing the root cause hasn't been addressed by Apple in 2.5 years, but thank you for figuring out how to get around it!

Thank you Guys, I tried changing time to 1 year ahead and hard booting iphone. It solved the problem once i restored time setting to automatic.

Just want to share more fixing options.. Because I tried all of those suggestions, and none of them works permanently.

I tried all those suggestions, changing date/time, reset phone setting, hard reboot, changing DNS, restore phone... each solution would fix the problem only temporary (at least for me!) and the bug still keep coming. Using cellular data to download the app in the beginning and switch back to wifi seems to help as well, but that's not convenient! I don't want to keep doing the same thing every time I download apps.

Here is how to fix it permanently (at least for me):

- Go to Settings/Cellular/ and turn off Wi-Fi Assist. That's all!!

- Sometimes you need to delete the apps that already caused the problem, before download them again on Wi-Fi with the Assist thing off.

You can switch it on later. But for me, once I switched it on, I was able to download a few apps, and then out of the blue, the problem came back! Then, I switched it off, the problem was gone. Also, be sure you delete the un-finish-downloaded apps before you download them again.

So, the story is that I have been using 4s for 3-4 years with none of this 'Unable to download app' problem. Then, once I used my Apple ID with my new SE phone (with the Wi-Fi Assist on). The problem occurred. Not only that, the bug also appear on my old 4s phone as well. That's very weird!! So, I thought that it has something to do with how the new phone communicate with App Store while downloading app. Now that I turn the Assisting thing off, my old phone is back to normal. 🙂

I Have to ask you something, my IPhone has been putting a popup on the screen saying "ITunes Store not available for download, please try again later". The thing is, i never use ITunes Store, i havent even signed in to it. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Delete your Podcast app. and it's done.
