Is it possible to just play a CD on my MacBook Pro without importing the songs to iTunes? Can iTunes just function as a player?

I would like to know if I can play a music CD on my MacBook Pro without having to import it to iTunes? Can iTunes function just as a player without importing the songs first? There are times I would just like to listen to a CD without importing it to iTunes on my Mac and then having to remove it later if I decide I don't want it on the Mac. or is there a recommended player for the Mac that is just a player? Thanks for your help.
