Hey...same issue with my 2007 MBP. Running Mavericks. Did you have any luck?
Hi, same here. 2011 MBP with Mavericks can't see my new 'JBL Flip' bluetooth speaker. No issue with iPad & iPhone though.

Never mind, this did it for me https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5032665?answerId=22091984022#22091984022 In fact, with Mavericks, steps 5-7 aren't necessary at all.
