I figured the new Mountain Lion OS ... 10.8.4 wouldn't cost much . It doesn't .. 20 bucks . But there sure was a lot of whining about it. People had to fool with things a lot to get to work right , more like what they're used to working with.

As I said before I'm no computer wizz .... KISS in my rule of thumb. I like to have FUN !! Not work hard to get things going.

1 iMac is 10.6.8 and the other is 10.7.4

Mt. Lion is the better Lion - IMHO. Since you took the plunge and upgraded to Lion, you can as well go the Full Monty and upgrade to Mt. Lion or Mavericks (coming soon). Mt. Lion mitigated some Lion design decision that were not accepted by users and seems to be overall more stable. And it has the better iCloud integration, if you want to use that. I had no real problems going from Lion to Mt. Lion. The really big leap was from Snowleopard to Lion. That left quite a few beloved applications behind - mostly scanner and other device drivers. Snowleopard is such a stable and usuable operating system - if you do not profit from iCloud, there is no compelling reason to abandon Snowleopard, unless you want to have updates for applications, that now are only released for the newer systems.

Didn't have to much time with it mostly because of the amount of extras that need to be downloaded. Luckily I just put a terabit drive in my iMac.

The new look is modern and nice to work with. I didn't read the manual so just jumped right in. I opted for the new set of key commands so some things surprised me but I'll get them memorized soon. Everything feels quick the channel strip layout has been tweaked for the better. All my old logic and grageband presets are available. The media browser and instrument library look and feel like Garageband.

I got to go right now I'll post more tonight but I will be deleting my Logic Express much sooner then I expected.

isteveus,

I have been hoping for some instruments that are missing in GB. If you should come across an instrument that sounds like a blues harp, please tell me its name.

My download finished last night, and my GarageBand projects imported well. I am not yet sure, if it will be necessary to upgrade Mainstage 2 as well. All the Jam Packs are working well.
