Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
The title says it all really. The application downloads and installs correctly. Upon opening the application for the first time, the basic content download begins. After downloading the 2GBs worth of basic content, the installer never seems to pass the installing phase. The progress bar stays in the same place.
Anybody else had this issue?

I manage to fix the issue by finding the basic content download location and installing the package manually. After installing, Logic resumed as normal.

How did you find the LPX content download location? In Logic Pro 9 I had to use Speed Downloader to get the basic and additional content download to work, but I can't seem to find the links for Logic Pro X.
I looked in the file located at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic10.plist and found one url linking to the basic content package. I downloaded the package with a browser and installed separately.

I've been having this issue all day. I tried looking for that plist (which dannylister mentioned), but it is not there with the other plists. I (previously today) downloaded the initial program from the app store, started it and was given the "basic content download" screen, but nothing happens, even after deleting and reloading the original program.
Does anyone else have something that might work for me? I'd appreciate the help!

I'm not sure Apple would be too happy with posting a link. I used Preview to view and copy the link. Just select the file and pass the space bar. You should be able to see it then.
I also found them locally after installing them through Logic failed. I used Finder to go to '/private/var/folders/'. If you look for a folder called 'com.apple.MusicApps' you should find all the downloaded packages which you can install manually.
Thanks again...I had problems with the in-app extra content, but was able to find the installers from your tip. I really appreciate your help and now am enjoying Logic X.
I'm still having an issue. I can successfully download all the additional content from the package location and install. But most plugins still think the content is missing when attempting to use on a track and asks to download the missing content.
Have a look at this thread http://www.logicprohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=97109. Running you mac in Safe Mode solves the issue and lets you install basic content through Logic.

Restarted the machine in safe mode and the download worked.

I'm having the same exact problem. Safe mode doesn't work. Downloading the pkg file doesn't work, it says installed failed everytime. The com.apple.MusicApps/audiocontentdownload.apple.com/lp10_ms3_content_2013/ file is empty?!?!
