Michael,
You asked me to have patience. Frankly, I have been trying to decide if I am smart enough to learn objective-c and program in Apple's paradigm. Even in good times, I find the superstructure of Apple's walled garden difficult to handle. But in this time of extreme instability, I am unable to discerne the difference between my own shortcomings as an Apple application developer, and intermittent undocumented fluctuations in the developer portal.
We seem to be caught up in some kind of ****, where we are being punished, led around in circles, banging our heads into needless obstacles, with no real sign of a clear direction or timeline through which to proceed.
At this point I am sorry I signed up for this year's Mac Developer Program. Why I would subject myself to this kind of painful ordeal is unclear. Why I would pay for the same is even less understandable.
My decision at this point is to proceed developing platform neutral code using GNU tools, and hold off platform decisions until a clear marketing opportunity presents itself.
Developing with C/C++ and python in a platform neutral mode will leave me able to target whatever platform is the most worthy when the time comes. The Mac is my choice of Unix workstation for the time being.
As for patience, I usually reserve that for people with a plan, milestones, and clear progress. Is there light at the end of this tunnel?
