Emptying trash
I can't empty the last few items in my trash because they are "in use." What does this mean? I would understand if they were running apps, but they're documents. How do I quit documents?
MacBook Air, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

is the trash still emptying when you get this message?
The trash still empties, but the documents that are "in use" remain in the trash.
If it was something that was put ino the trash in the current session, most of the time simply rebooting the system will release it.
Reboot, then
Re-empty
Ah. I can't believe I forgot to try that! I usually always do that when something goes wrong on any of my devices. Thanks.
