sync yahoo contacts
How can I have my yahoo contacts and Contacts sync both ways, automatically? Using OSX 10.8.4 and IOS 6.1.3?
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8), with iPhone 4 / IOS5
Enter the account in both machines, have you done this yet?

I can have 2 windows open on my MacBook Pro; 1. Yahoo mail "Contacts" tab; 2. the "Contacts" app. Addind a contact to Yahoo does not appear in Contacts App. The same happens in reverse.
However, adding a contact on my iPhone or iPad, appears in MacBook Contacts App, but not in the MacBook Yahoo Contacts.
Check your settings.
Mac: System Preferences>Mail Contacts and Calendars: Yahoo account is present, it is the same account as all the other devices use and Contacts is turned on. Yes?
That helped, but:
An entry into Yahoo Contacts now appears in MacBook Contacts. But the reverse does not happen.
IOS - In Settings, try adding Yahoo in Mail, Contacts and Calendars.
If you want to sync your Yahoo contacts you want to first make sure that you have all of the correct information in your Yahoo account. I used to use Yahoo for my contacts. I probably had over 1000 contacts that I had acquired throughout the years. I don't know how I could have gotten so many contacts, but I guess as time goes by you meet more people. To be honest after a while I didn't really recognize a few of the names, and that made me feel bad. I know that these people are unique, and have a lot to give to the world I'm sure. I thought about calling a few of them in order to try to catch up, but I thought that would be a little creepy.
Make sure that you enter Contacts (in Macbook Contacts) into the correct account, have you checked which account is the default yet?
Mail is "ON" in Settings: Mail, Contacts, Calendar: Yahoo on my iPhone.
Not sure what you mean. How do I check that?
Open the contacts on your Mac and go the the groups view, tell me what you see on the left side
ICloud: All icloud
YAhoo: All Yahoo
Those are the accounts, any contacts you want to be in Yahoo need to be in the Yahoo group.
Open Contacts>Preferences>General and select the default account. (The one where new contacts will go)

Not possible, they are separate accounts. Pick one.
Are you saying:
If I send an email from my Macbook using Yahoo mail, and an email from my iphone using Contacts, that each will use its own separate, different contact list?
What I want to do is have the same set of contacts regarless of from which device I send the email. Also, I know that contacts entered into Yahoo appear in "All Contacts" in Contacts. But, I need the reverse also.
