ITunes does not work on Windows 7

After my last upgrade of iTunes, it will not longer work. The error meesage is that iTunes was not properly installed, please install again. That of cours doesn't help. Uninstalling all Apple products, using spy ware and virus grograms, registry cleaning, reinstalling .net files have all one thing in common, they do not help. So I have given up iTunes. My iPhone 4s is great, but I hate that I cannot just have my phone as any external harddrive and do whatever I want. It's my pone.

When a user is not satisfied with how a product performs, they should be helped by the producer of that product. If something goes wrong and you have to use several hours more or less by yourself or by the help of other users, a warning should be provided. The Apple products are great, I have two iPhones and a new iPad. Everything is fine, until something goes wrong.

Critical customers are the most important source for improvements. An improvement could start right here: Apple staff should follow this site and use their expertise so the rest of us don't have to guess what has to be done when a problem occurs. Since this is a user forum, may be the users should go together and demand better service from Apple? Otherwise we have to use the only weapon we have - stop buying their products.

Exactly... so contact Apple. Posting here won't get a response from Apple. If you don't want other users to try to help you, don't post here.

a warning should be provided.

What? You think a warning should be provided that sometimes things go wrong and you may need to seek help? Get real! What planet have you been living on? Have you never purchased any item of any kind before? Any product can have or develop a fault or not work exactly as expected. That's what guarantees, warranties and customer support is for. People have problems with cars, TVs, food, cameras, homes, everything on a daily basis. Do they all come with a warning?

It's not for you to say that Apple staff should follow this site. Apple provide extensive technical support articles on their support site, one-on-one support in their Apple Stores, and support over the phone - maybe you should use the avenues of support Apple provides, rather than coming to a clearly labelled user-to-user help forum and making demands that Apple should be here.

Hundreds and thousands of Apple customers help each other out on these forums everyday. And since these forums are worldwide and open 24 hours, often help is received much quicker than you would contacting Apple directly, due to opening hours, time zones, support queues etc.

However, sometimes there are problems that users alone cannot solve, and it is then that you should contact Apple directly for help.

Incidentally, I don't see many (any?) other customers with your specific problem, nor many people posting a solution for you (which would happen if it were common). As you already have iTunes running successfully on another computer you own, perhaps the problem is specifically with the one computer you're having problems on and not necessarily with the software? Nobody here knows what other crap you have on this malfunctioning PC or what hardware you've got. It's the nature of Windows PCs that they'll have problems - that's why the internet is full of Windows support sites and forums.

Otherwise we have to use the only weapon we have - stop buying their products.

Speak for yourself, not a collective "we". Stop buying Apple's products if you want. Nobody here cares what you buy. Always buy the best tools for the job, which you've already said an iPhone doesn't have a critical feature you want. However, also bear in mind that Apple consistently comes top for customer support and satisfaction in independent studies, so it doesn't mean you'll get better support from a different company - and all companies products can have problems.

Sorry, I thought is was room for different views on this forum. That many manufacturers are making faulty product is no excuse for anybody. Critical customers have initiated many improvements. You are writing as you were the public relation manager of Apple, everything is fine, right? Nothing could be better, Apple have the ultimate product and the ultimate service? I actually though that this forum was monitored by Apple since the Apple logo is in the top.

Oh yes, I have tried Apple support. They could not or would not do anything as "nobody" knew anything about Windows. Oh yes, many users have this problem, it's just to read the articles mentioned in previous and friendly posts. Apple is not on any top in my country, rather the opposite, Apple is looked upon as being arrogant and sometimes think they are above the law. But they have had superior products for a long time. But time is changing. Products are getting more and more similar, the future winner might be the company with the best service.

You thought wrong. This is a clearly labelled user-to-user technical support forum. Apparently you didn't bother to take notice of that fact before signing up and posting here.

I'm just making the point, that no matter how good the product, or what it is, there will always be a small minority of purchasers who have a problem. 100% perfection does not exist on this planet. The vast majority of Apple's (and most other reputable companies) millions of customers don't have any problems.

You could've saved yourself from that embarrasing mistake by reading the Terms of Use of the forum when you agreed to them on signing up here. Guess you're one of those who doesn't bother reading the T&Cs and TOU when clicking "I agree" on things...

There is a lot of Windows support sites out there because there is a lot of PCs out there.

Regardless of how many PCs there are, if they didn't have so many problems, there wouldn't be so many support sites. There's also a lot of Apple products out there.

You seem to find it acceptable that Windows PCs frequently go wrong and have problems, but for some reason, the same is not acceptable of Apple products. Biased much?
