G4 : Slow Wake-up from sleep.

Recently my 3 year old G4 with a Sony G520 seems to take considerable time - up to one minute- to wake up. The G520 is also shared with my PC . Could the settings be wrong in System Preferences < Energy saver ? Right now, the settings show Never for both computer and display to sleep ? Have I missed something ? Thanks

G4, External HD, External DVD Writer, Mac OS X (10.3.9)
