Personal Hotspot on my iPhone 4S 16GB... Poor Connection Speed!

Hi there,

I recently discovered about using my 3G internet and switching on Personal Hotspot to gain a new Wi-Fi spot when out and about. On my iPad 2 its connects first time but is VERY slow! On my laptop i need to restart phone turn personal hotspot and change the password EVERYTIME I use it!

Why is the internet so slow. It will take over 1 minute just to load google!

I have 500mb internet each month on t-mobile and have only used 18mb this month so I have plenty left!!

How can I make it faster?!?

Start by testing what's the real speed your 3G link can offer. Install the SpeedTest app and use it to measure what your carrier is giving you.

Don't confuse the 500MB of downloads your data plan gives you with the speed at which you will be able to download that. Speed is measured in bits per second.
