our family actually has 3x same chargers for 2x iPhone 5 and 1x iPod Touch.

my iPhone 5 was loosing to charge everytime i connect the charger/s ( it

is not loose at all when you connect, not wobbling, it is intact into the socket).

then today, it is not charging anymore. lost connection, KAPUTT.

basic troubleshooting i did, was to use all our 3x chargers, nothing, no connection. just to make sure that this

is not cable or charger issues, i tried the other iPhone 5, it worked no problem using those 3x chargers and cables.

rebooted or hard reset, clean the socket on the iPhone.

conclusion: for now, it is the charging/data socket that has a problem. what is the problem? it is unknown until i bring this to the apple store.

remedy: bring this to apple store.

I was having the same problem, and I cleaned the charging socket carefully with a toothpick, small piece of paper towel, and electrical contact cleaner. Coincidentally, I also had a bad cable. I feel that the new thunderbolt charging system is very fickle - the cables fail more frequently, and the connection at the device (especially the iPhone because of being in more confined debris-ridden spaces like a pocket) is is not as robust as the previous IOS connector. I have spent 3X the amount on these charging cables and accessories, and it has me thinking about an alternate phone for the first time in 4 years. I just don't like wasting time on failing connectors and the iPhone finding any generic charging device to be incompatible.
