This is the icon that is in your entry in your Address Book. You can go into Address Book and edit your entry. Apple has a number of icons that come included in OS X (including the gingerbread man), or you can use a video camera to take a snapshot of your self, or you can drop in any image you like.
You can also set an icon for yourself in System Prefences->Accounts; I'm not sure if this icon gets propogated to your Address Book entry.
Okay, thanks. I see how to get at it now. But the only option that is not there is to pick no picture at all. Am I missing this? They don't let me pick "no picture". None of my addressees show a pic in Address Book. And in Accounts, my account has a picture assigned, a different one. Can I choose to not have a picture assigned? Thanks. RR1
I haven't forgotten about the double-delete thread, I'm just waiting for Apple to release the next update before looking at the issue again.
As to the issue of this thread, have you tried deleting the picture from your card in Address Book? You should be able to do that by entering Edit mode, selecting the picture and pressing the Delete key. Doesn't that work?
