I have the common problem that itunes won't shut down, even after force quit, I have seen numerous threads on here about the problem which has been going on for years with no resolution found. I don't need it, use it ,want it and it is causing me much pain. So how can i remove it, its just bloat ware for me.

You cannot remove iTunes from OS X, as it is a native application that should never be deleted. Do not follow any advice to the contrary.
I tunes is necessary for many key operations, Mac authorizations etc etc for your Macbook Air, removing it is not an option to even consider.
If you have an issue with its operation, you can call tech support for help.
Have you tried reinstalling iTunes?
You can delete the application, but you should follow with a re-installation.
Just don't open it and in system preferences, CDs & DVDs for everthing set it to Ignore.
it does not let you delete it, says its key to the OS
I don't ever open it, i don't have any use for it, i set the preferences but it still just sits there doing nothing but preventing me from shuttting down.
Is there a way I can find out what applications/file types might trigger itunes?
