If you insert an iphone 4S battery in an iphone 4 or vice versa, the device wont recognise the hardware. If it did, i would turn my iphone 4 into 4S by replacing the camera lol

The iPhone is NOT user serviceable, meaning that it is not meant to be serviced by anyone other than Apple. We users here would have no idea of which battery is appropriate for the phone, nor is this the appropriate forum for the discussion of one.

Apple charges $79 for a battery replacement. Apple will do the replacement, NOT you. Apple does not sell any parts. Any part you purchase will either be counterfeit or salvaged from a used phone.
No, you don't have to. If you are ever going to consider an out-of-warranty replacement you need to go that route but otherwise you can do it yourself.
Before you do make a Genius Bar at your nearest Apple Store and have them test the battery to ensure that is your issue.

BTW, Apple will not sell you a battery, they will replace it.
Call Apple support see if that cant run a diagnostic on your Iphone to see if your battery is bad. The only way to fix a battery in the Iphone is to get it repair by an official apple tech or process a repair through apple support.
Apple does not make batteries and the one you get will not be counterfeit nor from a salvaged used phone. Depending on what one wants to pay you can get the exact same battery or an OEM battery designed to work in the iPhone.

Not necesserily but you should as they would provide the best quality one. But other ones can work too until its for the specific idevice. I think on Ebay they sell Grade A ones for about 10 US dollars or so

We're users here and have no idea why Apple doesn't sell batteries. Doesn't matter anyway. Bottom line is, they don't.
That's so bad :/ so can i find Original batteries on eBay or Amazon or those Batteries are not original and it will damage my iPhone????
If you don't get the battery replaced through Apple, you take your chances. Do some research and hopefully all will turn out OK. Purchase the battery from a reputable source.
