I just picked up the newest Macbook Air and began to use the migration assistant to transfer files. Yet, it seems to be stuck. That is, for the past 3 hours, it tells me that it will take 28 hours and 52 minutes to compete the transfer

Similar problem but mine is stuck at "less than a minute remaining". There seem to be a number of people who had this same problem, but there is no apparent good answer. I guess manual transfer is going to be necessary. I am going to quit the assistant and try again.
If it has been a long time since you started this transfer you may have completed it, check before you start again.
