No longer an option to GIFT an app that I own?

I work (and have a child) in the special needs community. A lot of us will get apps and if we like them a lot and know others that could use them we would gift them to them. NOW there is no longer an option to GIFT an app that we already own! This happened at the last update of iTunes! *** is going on - this is a HUGE ISSUE for us and I would think others. If you have something you like and you want to gift it (you can't - what kind of malarkey is that) - you only now have the option if you own it to: SHARE on Facebook or Twitter; Tell a Friend (about it - no I'd rather GIFT it to them) or Copy the link ....

there has to be a solution or another way?!

It's a 'feature' of the current version of iTunes, and it affects other content as well e.g. music albums. If you log out of your account on your computer's iTunes (e.g. via the Store > Sign Out menu option) you should then get the gift option on the app - you will then be prompted to sign back in as part of the gifting process.

Thank you King (although that is the most absurd thing ever having to SIGN OUT and then back in) ... that makes it quite a long process for something that some of us do a lot of - I'm going to have to SIGN OUT three times in order to give one app to three different people this morning :-(
