MacBook Pro name in Router

MacBook Pro name in Router

In my dLiink router , iphones ipods and 2 PC's show up in he router. My MacBook Pro doesn't. It is listed as "unknown".

How can I get the macBook Pro to show up in the router?

As long as your MBP can connect to the network & operate, you don't have to worry about it "showing up" in the list in your router. "Unknown" is probably your MBP anyway.

Sometimes this is because of a name length limit. If the computer name is too long then the router may dismiss it, so try using a shorter computer name to see if that shows up in the router.
