CD Rip - Would Accurate Rip Technology Help?

Looking at the advantages within iTunes Match of starting with high quality source material, is it an advantage on initial rip to use a lossless format such as ALAC and accurate rip technology (http://www.accuraterip.com/) ?

Recent review of the topic seems to indicate that errors within Song files when ripping are relatively common, if so, this may be influencing the ability to 'match'. Does anyone have experience in this area?

When I originally matched my library, in the first month the service was available, all my music was in ALAC and the process seemed to go pretty smoothly. It just seems logical to me that the more data in the file the sample process has to work with the better, so a lossless format like ALAC would be better. I have also had very good results with MP3 @320 Kbps recently, which seems to back up my hypothesis.
