Need to create sub folder in "Pages"

I want to create sub folders in pages on my ipad. But every time I try to drop one doc onto another ( as you would to create a folder) it refuses to create a sub folder. Is there a different way to create sub folders?

Hi I’ve been looking for a solution to this for ages, love pages and can’t find anything that competes with it as a word processor program but not having sub folders AGHHH. So my work around is a App called “File Manager Pro” by Zuhanden GmbH ( can’t find a link ) with this you create as many sub folders as you like. to use it create a file in pages then choose send a copy in the menu from there choose the type of file you want to send then File manager Icon. When its in File Manager you can create a folder / sub folder and place it in there. The downside is you need to send it back to whatever app its from to work on the file then return it. I can put up with that just to be able to organise my files.

No. That's the way that you do it.

When you are in the documents view in Pages, you can tap the edit button in the upper right corner and the documents begin to wiggle and then you can drag on document on top of another one to creat a folder. Or yo can tap and hold down on a document until it wiggles and then drag into another document to creat a folder - just like you do with apps on the home screen.

If you can get it to work, sometimes it helps if you close the app completely in the recents tray and start all over again when you relaunch Pages. It might help to reboot the iPad as well. If yoy want to try that .....

Tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus ➖ sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice to return to the home screen.

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
