I'm new at all this. I have downloaded Xcode 4.6 on both my laptop and my iMac and I can't get it to run on either. I'm running OSX 10.6.8 and have 4 GB of memory. That's not the problem. If it won't run on either then I think it has to do with my account rather than hardware but I'm clueless. Anybody had this problem besides me?
Xcode 4.6 requires Lion or ML (10.7 or 10.8).

That IS your problem.
I have OS X 10.75 and Xcode 4.6.3 still never loads. It looks like it's loading in the dock and it shows up in the Force Quit Applications window. But when I use the CMD-Tab to switch apps, it never shows up.
Anything showing up in Console?
After shutting the laptop down and coming back to it a few hours later, Xcode started working. I guess I was simply impatient. I'm not sure why the restarts earlier didn't work or what changed during the break.
When I try to launch Xcode 4.6, it never finishes loading.
