Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

Wayne

If that's all it is, why does it work perfectly sometimes an not others? I think you just got another coindidence, myself.

I had this problem a while back for a few weeks, then without my doing anything at all it started working again. It then worked flawlessly for many months, then (again without my changing anything) it stopped again a couple of weeks ago.

I get the "Sending information to Apple..." about 6 out of 10 times match runs. Another 1-2 times it hangs somewhere else or actually makes it through but doesn't actually update anything. Odd.

Still, eventually it takes. I don't add enough music to get too upset but it would be nice if Apple would make this "just work" like its supposed too. Then again wifi sync no longer works via iTunes with my iOS devices so I'm not shocked this is only half working.

Sometimes its as simple as canceling the process and doing the Store->Update iTunes Match option and it works fine.

I still really like what iTunes Match provides and don't plan on switching away anytime soon.

BTW: I do have nearly 17k songs. Maybe it works better with less...?

Hello Everyone,

I have just signed up for iTunes Match and was experiencing issues with iTunes not completing the initial match on one of my computers. On my Early 2012 MacBook Air running Mavericks 10.9.2 and iTunes 11.2.1 (3), iTunes would sit at Sending Information to Apple...

What I did:

Stop iTunes Match process in whatever step it's in

Click the Store menu > Update Genius

An error message was displayed in moments related to an issue with the iTunes Store, click OK

Click the Store menu > Update Genius

Genius update process initiated and completed

Click the Store menu > Update iTunes Match

It made it through Sending Information... and proceeded to match my songs, then hung again during upload. I repeated the process outlined above and it completed the remaining 400+ songs.

iTunes Match does seem to have it's issues, but once we help Apple work through them, it'll be another great service we wonder how we lived without πŸ™‚

I hope this helps someone!

As you say, stop the automatic sync process, then from the Store Menu->Update iTunes Match worked for me, and much quicker than letting the auto process complete.

Weird though, I ripped the new Coldplay CD as Apple Lossless (my usual format) and it recognised all except for 3 tracks (Midnight, A Sky Full Of Stars and O) which it uploaded. I tried altering the track names of the last two to match the iTunes store offering, but it made no difference. Odd.

Apple, please fix this intermittend behavour of iTunes. Version 11.2.x has introduced lots of niggly bug, that were in previous versions, then fixed and are now back. I send in bug reports but to no avail.

Q&A needs to take a long hard look at itself for this application.
