Itunes match stuck at sending information to apple

Anyone else having issues tonight? Once a week the iTunes match seems to auto run the info gathering and send to apple. Normally it works fine although can be a but slow to get a response from apple sometimes. Tonight it just won't go past 'sending information to apple'. Each time I start iTunes it gathers the info to try again. Anyone else getting similar? My library has not changed in weeks so it can't be anything like that. I guess server issues at apples end?

Cheers

Wayne

I am not 100% about the problems with updating and matching - but just over the last couple days I have had major problems just playing songs from the cloud. Network issues appeared to be the problem, more specifically Akamai network issues (use Terminal and NETTOP to view iTunes' network activity). Now granted that could have been something to do with a network in between my ISP and Akamai, however this morning I noticed that the speed to the network greatly improved.

I also noticed these forums were slow to respond as well over the last couple days... and during my digging around I notice that the forums as well are using Akamai's network. And this morning these forums are much faster.

So what ever the issue was (either Akamai or a connection between me and Akamai) is (thus far) resoved today. I am going to rip a couple CDs that still neede to be added and matched to my library and see if that part of iTunes Match is working as it should be.

Sorry, What you did proves nothing. Why would you turn itunes match off before importing your CD's. What you did is basically the work around. Leave itunes match on then import some more CD's & report back to us. Chances are it will then get stuck in sending or waiting mode. This is when you then turn match off & then turn back on. Last night I spoke to a senior advisor again. Right away he told me he was aware of the problem. I then asked him why I was lied to by the last senior advisor I spoke to as I was told 5 weeks ago that enginnering is working on it & will have a fix with the next itunes update. He promised he will get in touch with enginnering & get back to me with answers. He has my phone # & email address & I have his so if I do not hear back from him He will hear from me. I really do belive that sooner or later this issue will be resolved but just hope it is not much later. Apple has nothing to gain by not fixing this issue but a lot to lose as more & more people will not renew there subscriptions & will go with the Amazon cloud player for the same price.

You are correct... I did not have iTunes Match on becuase I forgot I had had it off when I added the songs... so I did so after the fact.

Update... I did add a couple more CDs and left it to update on it's own (opposed to me starting it). At this point it got stuck on 'sending...' so yes could be a problem still.

I did notice though as soon as I click on the X to stop it then manually Update iTunes Match it worked perfectly.

So something buggy there for sure.

I am sorry to report that having 2 itunes updates in 2 days resolved nothing. Downloaded new music this morning. Looked like it was working but instead of hanging up it just did not complete the process. Had to turn off match & turn back on again in order for itunes match to complete. I am not very happy about this Maybe the next update will be the charm but right now I am not very optermistic at all>

Yeah I don't know... I was having these issues for tha last week or so, but my digging showed that Akamai (or my connection to it) had problems. But since yesterday it is working perfectly here. Adding songs to Match from both my PC and MacBook, all showing up right away on my iPhone and both Apple TVs.

I had one small 'moment' on my PC, but just once.

Not saying that there are no bugs in the system that could affect some, but for me my problems mostly seemed to be network related. And as Akamai has networks all over the place, the connection to iTunes Match would not be the same for all.

Hi there,

I had the same problem with Windows version of iTunes although the fix is the same for Mac or Windows I'd guess. Try this:

1) Turn off iTunes Match and Genuis.

2) De-authorise Computer

3) Sign out of your Apple account.

Re-boot computer and start up iTunes

4) Sign back into your Apple ID

5) Authorise your Computer

6) Turn on Genius and wait for Apple to send back results and process completes

7) Turn on iTunes Match and click the "add this computer" button to start the matching process.

8) Allow iTunes Match to go through the updating process - this time it should eventually complete.

Hope this works - it certainly fixed my "Sending Information to Apple" problem.
