Hi,

I am also having the same problem as you all. FT seems to have stopped working.

I contacted Omantel, they said "Not Omantel Problem, contact TRA".

I contacted TRA, they said "Not TRA problem, contact Omantel"

I contacted both parties with this information and asked for some additonal help rather than being bounced backwards and forwards, I even sent this furom to them, there unified response was.............Silence!!!

They have not bothered to respond nor show any interest. Usual way, when things get difficult - bury your head in the sand!! 😠

Looks like this problem might be around for a while.

LjScotland and all,

All I can say is that the problem must lie with Omantel. I have been bombarding them with emails and also tweets about this issue. I have even posted the link to this forum with Omantel. I would suggest that everyone sends them mails and tweets and keeps doing so until they listen and do something about it. The TRA have confirmed that VoIP services and specifically FT are now allowed in Oman.

Please send emails and tweets to Omantel. Their details are below.

Twitter= @omantel

Email= huthaima.khanjari@omantel.om

cem2@omantel.om

The more people keep on at them the more chance we have of getting to someone who knows or is prepared to help.

Good luck and keep us all posted.

Please once again do your research into this. VPN's can't be banned as banks in Oman use them for secure encryption of data between their branches, headoffices.

As I stated it is not illegal to use FaceTime in Oman. There is a problem at the moment that no one seems to be owning up to why FaceTime is not working in Oman. People have spent lots of money on Apple devices to use them to communicate between family and friends which has not been a problem in the past.

This is for solutions not problems...
