My iPod fell on the floor and the glass was crack also, the hole that the headset plug into got so big I cannot hear a sound from it. The headset work on other devices, what should I do?.

If you still have Applecare warrant, take it to genius bar for repair.
Or if you don't, repair it at iFixit or other similar shops.
kaz-k, the warranty is irrelevant. A broken screen is not coverd by the warranty and void the warranty on the entire iPod.
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours. I would say not worth it for a 2G iPod

Best is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Yo cn do the exchange at a store.
