Will a stolen iphone that is restored by the thief still show up on my device list on Find My iPhone?

Hi, I recently had my iphone 5 stolen. It was turned off within minutes after I realized it was gone and now shows as offline in my device list. I am resigned to the fact that I won't get it back and set the phone to be wiped. I would rather have peace of mind that my data is erased. My question is, is if the thief restores the phone, will it continue to show up on my device list as "offline" or will it just disappear from the list? At least if I saw the device disappear I would know my data is gone, but right now it is still in the offline mode. Thanks, any help is appreciated. I also have my phone locked with a passcode.
