iCloud Calendars Changing Colors

I have used the iCloud calendar flawlessly for months between my macbook pro, and my iPhone 5. I have 3 calendars (School, Work, and Events) and they have always synced between my phone and laptop perfectly. I noticed just last night (Aug. 13th.) that the small color icons on each calendar are changing by themselves. It is very frustrating, is anyone else having this problem?

I will change them back to the colors they originally were, and without clicking or touching anything else, wait a few seconds and watch them change. It seems that whenever it refreshes or tries to sync, they change randomly - sometimes with more than one calendar being the same color. I tried turning off all wireless activity on both my macbook and iPhone, and resetting the colors on both, but the moment I turn wifi/data back on, they start randomly changing again.

Any ideas?

So I set up an appointment for Apple to call me back about this, and I just had a nice conversation with an Apple support guy. He and his group were unaware of the problem, but he said they deal with the OS, so he was referring the issue to someone else, presumably who deals with the cloud. I directed him to this thread and told him of all the other, similar threads, in which clearly many people are dealing with this issue. I told him that it seems this occured in August as well, and resolved in a few days. I was away in August, so I may have been unaware of the problem.

He's passed on the concern to the cloud folks and set a new call for someone there to call me back at 2:15 pm EST. We'll see if they are able to figure out the problem. It's wierd, because the colors are correct on my iphone, they're just not correct on the desktop via www.icloud.com. And there I can change the colors on all my calendars except one--mine.

Since he's referring this issue to the cloud folks, I asked him to also check if there is a way to view information from a subscribed calendar on the desktop, because that's a big pet peeve of mine in ical. I have them in my phone, but not the desktop. When they call back, I'll try to remember to ask them if they're working on a way to print the calendar....If I can get subscribed calendars to show up in the desktop and be able to print the calendar in different views, ical would finally be a great app.

I'll post back after my next call and report what they say.

Have a good day, everyone.

Thanks for putting in the time BethBee

I am confirming that I'm seeing the same thing. running iOS7 latest build on a black iPhone5, on rogers network in Canada.

I have seen this problem a few times in the past on iOS6 as well. I was able to change the colours back using iCal and my iPhone. Today i just tried updating hte colours in the online iCloud interface and it lets me edit and choose the colour, changes for about 1 second and reverts back.

i'm sure there is just a server error

Just spoke with another really nice person at Apple, the call having been set up by the first person I spoke with today. The engineers at Apple are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. At this point, they don't know what the issue is. So hopefully they'll figure it out soon and we'll all be back in the pink (or orange or green or whatever colors we need).

Cheers!

I also have a problem, I have two calendar (personal and work). The work one is an exchange calendar while the personal one is icloud. The icloud calendar was orginally yellow and now keeps on reseting to blue on all my devices (iPhone, iPad, iMac, and Macbook). Also, if I try and go to icloud.com to change it, it just attempts to change it but them immediately reverts back to blue.
