iCloud Calendars Changing Colors

I have used the iCloud calendar flawlessly for months between my macbook pro, and my iPhone 5. I have 3 calendars (School, Work, and Events) and they have always synced between my phone and laptop perfectly. I noticed just last night (Aug. 13th.) that the small color icons on each calendar are changing by themselves. It is very frustrating, is anyone else having this problem?

I will change them back to the colors they originally were, and without clicking or touching anything else, wait a few seconds and watch them change. It seems that whenever it refreshes or tries to sync, they change randomly - sometimes with more than one calendar being the same color. I tried turning off all wireless activity on both my macbook and iPhone, and resetting the colors on both, but the moment I turn wifi/data back on, they start randomly changing again.

Any ideas?

Also having the same problem here. My Home calendar keeps switching itself to Blue and Work to Purple which is confusing my 'set in my ways' brain!! I have tried changing them on my Mac, iPhone and on the iCloud web interface - but nothing seems to work. In fact the iCloud web interface automatically switches the colour back immediately after I select my preference.

Off to the Apple feedback page I guess... 😟

We're now in the third day of this glitch, with no annoucement of any resolution or estimated timeframe. The problem is obviously spread far and wide, and has been confirmed in a ComputerWorld article:

For a company of Apple's resources, this is simply unacceptable. Apple wants us to trust our data to iCloud, yet allows a flaw like this to persist for days on end, without even a formal acknowledgement? Sure, this time it's "only" the label colors. As etronics6 notes, what if our calendar data were to start disappearing altogether? How many days would pass before the problem is addressed? It gives me pause about trusting any sort of important data to iCloud.

Big sigh from me too. This is getting all too tedious with Apple now. There are so many bugs and little annoyances that it really does make you wonder how far their heads actually are up their own a****.

I cant help but think that the contact us forms we all fill in just get left in an inbox somewhere and never actually read.

Perhaps the "barbie dreamhouse" colours referred to in the article above are part of the iOS7 theme - horrible colours and gimmicks aimed at teenagers to try and boost sales.

Kas90025,

Trust our data, right?!!! Gives u a lot of confidence, when crazy stuff like this happens...

I also had some issues of recurrences in my calendars showing up on one device & not others... Spoke with apple tech & they could not get me through the issue... I kind of fixed myself... It's just crazy... I finally just have to live with what I get on those... They r recurrences, so I kind of know what they r, but not always... Anyways.

If they screw up my work calendar which is now purple instead of green... That will cripple my company!!! Not showing up for appointments would not be a good thing for a small biz like mine... I fix computers & I rely on what is on my calendar... So I pray that, that never happens...

I hope Apple reads these threads & takes them to heart!

I hope they fix the problem soon, with no loss of data!

Same exact issue, same timing—my normally calm blue "Work" calendar is now a lurid and gaudy pink, which doesn't really say "work" to me (or at least not the kind of work I do!). I think that some of the more heated comments on this thread (of the "how dare Apple not fix this instantly!") are perhaps a little excessive for a purely cosmetic bug, so I'll just register my mild disapproval and earnest desire for Apple to fix this as soon as it can.
