i was having the same problem when trying tp play youtube flush i was getting plug in failure .

this is how i solved it:

1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > playback > peer-assisted networking settings by site >

www.youtube.com - allow

(any other site that you want to load instantly from the list-allow)

The really basic thing to try is updating your software for the whole computer in the app store. It will restart your computer and it worked for me. Nothing else I tried, including things here, worked until I updated the software. It's something easily overlooked, so please try it.

I am having the same problem. Changed the security in Safari as well as Flash within System preferences and did a few things above and nothing seems to be working... Any other ideas?

Adobe has recognized the problem with older (2006-2007) Macs - but they don't know why yet.

You will have to downgrade to Version 12. Follow their instructions - it worked for me.

PS: Download both files first, then de-install and re-install - as each file requires you to close Safari to perform the task.

Simple solution:

1. Uninstall Flash player using the Adobe uninstaller: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/uninstall_flash_player_ osx.dmg

2. Go here and get an older version: http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html (I chose the latest version of 12: Flash Player 12.0.0.77). Unzip & install as normal.

No need to mess around with Terminal or resetting your browsers.

I was ONLY freaking out for two dayz till i used my head and came to Apple Communities for a real solution... This is the BEST community(cuz I am an Apple user) for solutions... In here, we can learn more from real users than the retail people in the retail stores... It seems they sell great but not good on the "solution" detective wurk... So thank you for the band aid till Adobe/Apple figure out why this is happening...

So.....all the solutions here have NOT worked for me....i still get a 'jittery' playback of Flash videos streamed from the web in Safari

I have uninstalled flash with the flash installer...then reinstalled each of the version 12.

i have manually deleted the flash files in the internet plugins folder....then tried again....

still nothing

the only fix that is working right now is to use Firefox........which IS using ver 12.0.0.77...and nae chance i'm updating that right now...but

i really hope there is a fix for my situation.......my mac is

Late 15" 2011 MBP...2.4GHz i7...16GB....SSD....OSX 10.9.2....basically my laptop is not one of the older affected models as stated on adobe's site.....

i like safari....but is it time to move?
