Spam Data Entry In iCal (Calendar

If you get a spam message with an .ics file attached, this can happen.

Go to Calendar->Preferences->Advanced and uncheck "Automatically retrieve CalDAV invitations from Mail."

Macworld has this solution, which is best I've found yet.

It involves logging into iCloud.com and changing a setting there, but should solve the issue altogether.

Which setting needs to be changed, once your signed into the Cloud ?

Calendar Spam

What not to do is decline the calendar invite. When you decline it, the sender is notified that you declined it, then the spammer knows that your email address is valid. If you log into your iCloud account, I believe that you can change the setting that notifies the sender that you declined.
