I need an app to put a timer on wifi connectivity for my 6 year old daughters iPad. Even an app limiting the time a certain app would work would be helpful. Namely limiting the time spent on youtube as it will be so much easier telling her she can be on for an hour rather than trying to take it away after an hour. (And unless you have a 6 year old addicted to Minecraft videos, please no parenting advice).
Either manually or with a time switch, cut the power to your router.
Yes, but then no one can use the net, right? I was hoping there was an app for turning off access to certain apps using a timer feature.
To my knowledge, no such app exists, in large part due to the sandboxed nature of iOS. It is difficult, if not impossible, for an app to interact with other apps in this manner. It is a feature that would have to be built into iOS. I could be wrong however, and would encourage you to do a search on the app store. No app can interact with another app. It's one of the things that makes iOS so secure.
You can set a restriction on the YouTube app to make it require a password to use it, but I am unaware of anyway to control access by any sort of timer.
