Songs missing on ipod!

I turned my ipod on this morning and nearly all songs are missing and every playlist is empty! I plugged into the laptop and sync'd again but no joy. When plugged in and i click on 'on this ipod' it shows wvery song as being there. Help?!

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Unsync all music and resync

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

Hi

Thanks for your help.

I have done all of the above except un-syncing all the songs, would I need to do this on the laptop, plug the ipod in (wiping it essentially), and then re-sync?

I am a bit reluctant to do this as I have a few songs saved and synced but no longer have the original files ie, they are stored on the ipod and not the computer.

Unfortunately none of the other suggestions have worked 😟

Turned it on today again and 1 or 2 more songs have come back.

Also, when you click on now playing, it shows the last album being played, but again, it cannot be found on the ipod anywhere else.

Thanks
