How can I repair my Bootcamp Windows XP partition?

Hi! I've had Bootcamp for over a year, but last night, when I tired to open an application, Windows crashed giving me a blue screen telling me "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL." I've had this problem sometimes before, but this time, whenever I try to boot from my Windows partition, it starts loading (showing the flag and the little blue bar), and, while still loading, the screen goes black and I have to choose a different configuration. I managed to boot in "Safe Mode with Command Prompt." As it's still loading in the aforementioned mode, it gives me a list of all (prsumably) the drivers on my system, and pauses on "myp.sys" for a few seconds (10-15), at which point it loads normally into safe mode. So I googled my case and it may be that there's a problem with Boot Camp's MBR, but since I'm not a particularly advanced user, I have no idea how to make sure that's the problem. I also tried booting from the Windows XP CD to get to the Recovery Console, but some of the commands (like "FIXMBR") were particularly menacing, so I did not attempt anything. I'm also trying to repair my partition with Disk Utility at the moment, but I suspect it won't do any good. Any ideas?

I re-installed XP over the existing XP, but the opening screen does not show any of my programs or data. I still have a bootcamp Icon on my desktop and all the programs and dats are there. How do I re-integrate the system, so I boot to a working Windows XP with my old programs and data?

Thanks for any input.
