On my iPhone 4S, Whatsapp Chat Backup seems to have frozen at "Uploading : 16.8MB of 52.4MB (32%).

A few days ago, I tried to sett up the "Chat Backup", and set the "Auto Backup" to "Monthly". Thereafter whatsapp began the backup and somewhere in between 32%, it got stuck and still continues to.

I have tried uninstalling Whatsapp and re0installing it several times. I have also tried erasing my iPhone completely and re-setting it up. But both of these measures have failed to rescue. I feel my phone's battery is being consumed constantly by this whatsapp chat backup" that seems to be running forever.

Please suggest me a way out.

Worked like a charm

However on 7.1.2 it's slightly different as it's not called iCloud drive

Go to settings > icloud > Documents & Data > whatsapp > turn off

I tried to get a Whatsapp from an iPhone 4 (iOS 7) to an new iPhone 6S (iOS 9.0.2) and the solution by Crizzz worked perfectly. I might have activated iCloud Drive on my Mac without noticing and was stuck at 0%. The procedure takes some time to create a new account and run the backups & restores but does the job.

Hi,

i have a problem, which is a bit like this here.

I had an Iphone 6 which is broken. The Last WhatsApp Backup on Icloud is from the 15.07.2016!

Then i used my old iphone 4, but i didn't do a Backup there.

So now i have a new Iphone 7 and i would like to get my last Backup from the 15th. July, but it stops at

99%....

so what could i do?

I recently had the same problem with my iPhone6 (with the newest version of iOS). It's supposed to do the WA backup automatically every day, but last week I noticed that for some reason the latest backup had been made more than 2 months ago. I started the backup manually and it started going really slow. I kept the phone charging and left it home so that it would stay connected in wifi. It took 2 hours to load the first 4%, then it stayed on 8% for more than 5 hours and then it suddenly jumped to 40%. For the last 12 hours it was stuck on 99% (which was truly annoying). It took more than 2 whole days to make the backup, but I just waited patiently and it finally completed itself. Thank God.
