My emails keep disappearing

Often when I sign into email my icloud emails show for a few seconds and then disappear. They are not found in trash or archive but are simply gone. Has Apple addressed this issue or do I need to change emails again?

iCloud email messages on our Macbook Pro were disappering in the same way as others have stated, we also have an iMac connnected in an identical way and it's incoming messages were not being deleted. Neither computer had "set zone automatically..." checked. I have also been discussing this issue with a great Senior Supervisor and he feels that the problem could be linked to the iCloud server. He made a change his end and all our lost incoming messages appeared on my Macbook and in our iCloud account. We aren't sure why it has been a problem on just one of our computers, we're holding our breath.

I have the same problem of emails disappearing. I did go to the Genius Bar and my complaint was confirmed. I was given a iCloud support number to call. I was told to reset my password and I did. My emails stopped disappearing .... for a while. My suspicion is that this is a system problem that Apple cannot fix. I am evaluating whether to drop iCloud or live with fact that it is not to be trusted.

My emails were disappearing as well in my iphone 5, iPad and iMac. I would see them appear briefly in the inbox after the new mail notification sounded and then they were gone. But, it was only happening selectively. I just looked at my mailbox on my iMac and sure enough, I had 4,000 emails in the "junk" folder that were unread. Some of them were important and not junk at all. I went into mail preferences setting and reset the junk mail filters and checked the box to keep junk mail in my inbox but mark it as junk. I feel like my junk mail filter went haywire on me. At any rate, this appears to have fixed the problem.

And, these emails weren't showing up on iCloud because the mail preference settings on my iMac were set to not store a copy of junk mail on the server. So, once the mail hit my inbox and got routed to the junk folder on my iMac none of my other devices could see it.

Hope this helps!

This has been happening to me this week, but ONLY for messages from eBay, regarding an auction that I was bidding on. They appear briefly on my phone, but no other devices, then disappear before I can read them. Since it affects only eBay, I'm wondering if it's somehow due to malware - perhaps someone is manipulating the auctions? As far as I can tell, all other messages come through normally.

I am getting the same problem now with iPhone 6S and the latest IOS10.whatever

I have just lost a confirmation email for a click-and-collect order that I just made on a retail websire, and I believe also blown a job opportunity after my phone trashed an email from them after I had chased them for not responding to my job application. I suspect they had actually responded but my phone decided to delete their email.

I am now stopping all use of mail on my phone and will only be able to send and receive emails through my Windows 10 PC.

This is an absolute disgrace that such a serious problem has not been fixed years after users first started reporting it.

For this, and many other reasons, I am done with Apple products. They no longer "just work". Bye bye.

I have the same problem but I am not sure it is an Apple problem. However...it is my work emails that briefly appear and then disappear. They are on Lotus Notes on our laptops and then reconciled with our iPhones via Mobile Iron.

I checked my iPhone and had "set time automatically" switched on.

I think the couple of people who mentioned junk or filters might have hit the nail on the head. I need to test this out but I imagine if I remove all filters, including the one for junk, then the emails might remain in my inbox. Also I think my "junk" mail is being immediately deleted automatically. So that also needs to be switched off. Will come back to this group.
