iDVD burn failure

I am unable to burn a DVD using iDVD,

This disc in question is a slide show with added audio from iMovie. It's not long - about 12 minutes.

I've tried Memorex and Verbatim discs.

With Verbatim discs the burn window starts by saying "Time remaining 4 mins". The progress bar gets as far as, "Writing lead-out", with "Time remaining about 1 minute", when the disc ejects, not having been burnt.

With Memorex discs the burn sequence reaches completion but the resulting disc will not open in my dvd player. In my mac the disc opens as far as the title page but will not play or do anything else.

What can I do to remedy the situation?

I have OS10.7.5 and iDVD 7.1.2

All help and advice will be gratefully received and acknowleged, as usual.

Thanks in anticipation

Rob

HI, OT

Thank you so much for trying to help us.

I am using 11.0.6 version of toast titanium. My IDVD is 7.1.2, and my IMovie is 8.0.6

This is the steps I have tried. I hooded up my camcorder got the movie clip I needed, made my IMovie, I have tried both ways just sharing to IDVD. and share to media browser and selected medium. In IDVD I have made projects and tried to burn it, and it goes to the last couple mins and spits out the dic and says it is done. but still says there is acouple of mins. left to go. the last time I save as a disk image. It plays just great in the DVD player. I tried to toast it and got those different errors from toast. so I tried to burn it threw Disk Utility and when I press burn the computer just sits there for ever doing nothing and it says waiting for the drive. but I can't hear the drive trying to do anything.

I doubt goint to Yaiyo Yuden will make any difference.

What format is the music used in the project? Those in the know will conver to aiff and use that format when having problems.

If you do change formats and redo the movie in iMovie you should start over with a new project. iDVD doesn't play well with reedited movie files.

I'd try the disk on another DVD player before reburning or redoing the project.
