iPhoe 4S can no longer pair with Plantronics M1100 headset

I have an iPhone 4S running iOS 6.1.3 and a Plantronics M1100 headset. The Bluetooth connection has worked fine until today.

The phone "forgot" about the headset. So I went into pairing mode, located the device name within the Bluetooth settings on the phone and selected it. Although the headset says "pairing successful", the phone says "Pairing Unsuccessful - Make sure PLT_M1100 is turned on, in range and is ready to pair."

I have tried rebooting the phone but the behavior is the same.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Exactly the same thing has just happened to mine last week. I've got a Plantronics M20 headset.
I went to use it one day and it switched on fine, but didn't automatically connect to my iPhone 4S (also running 6.1.3) as it usually does.

I tried re-pairing it using the pair process and the headset shows up on the list as 'Not Paired'. When I select it the pair process begins, the headset speaks 'pairing successful' but a message pops up on the phone to say it was unsuccessful and it doesn't connect.

I've tested the phone's bluetooth to make sure that's still working. I 'forgot' my Turtle Beach headset and then successfully re-paired it. I also tried a hard reset on the phone with no change.

I assumed my 18 month old headset had broken, but if you're having exactly the same issue the same week I'm guessing it could be an OS fault.

I'll do some more testing tonight with my girlfriends iPhone, my PS3 and my MacBook to see if it can connect to them and report back.
