MCProfileErrorDomain, code 1005

Hello everyone,

When installing a security profile service (even the default one) through OTA with MobileIron MDM v5.7, the process fails and the iPad (iOS 6.1.3) shows the error "Profile Installation Failed" and "The profile does not contain any data".

In the iPad's console we can see the following:

Desc : Profile Installation Failed

Sugg : The profile does not contain any data

US Desc: Profile Installation Failed

US Sugg: The profile does not contain any data

Domain : MCInstallationErrorDomain

Code : 4001

Type : MCFatalError

...Underlying error:

NSError:

Desc : The profile does not contain any data

US Desc: The profile does not contain any data

Domain : MCProfileErrorDomain

Code : 1005

Type : MCFatalError

Extra info:

{

isPrimary = 1;

}

The MobileIron's certificate for iOS Enrollment has been issued by a Root CA whose certificate is trusted on the iPad and it correctly shows up as trusted at the installation prompt.

Would you have any further hints on how to troubleshoot/fix this?

Thank you in advance,

Federico

Hi,

I have encountered this same error this week when trying to register an iPad (4th Gen iOS v6.1.3) with MobileIron. I do not remember seeing this error before, and cannot find any other useful information on the internet regarding it.

I am interested to know why this is occuring so I will monitor this discussion in hope of a reply!

Thanks,

OUH

Thank you very much for your feedback.

In the meantime I reinstalled MobileIron's VSP and I got rid of the issue.

Not sure it was the only solution, but it solved it.

Experienced this exact same issue today.

I managed to resolve it by updating the time and date to update via NTP. It had been manually set and was an hour out.

You shouldn't need to reinstall the entire VSP environment!

It happened once again with the new installation that was originally working.

We checked the NTP status and everything was showing up fine.

We even tried setting the time manually, just in case, but nothing changed.

The solution this time was to point the VSP to a public NTP server.

We are using a private NTP server in our lab that works just fine for all other devices/servers.

Also, the VSP itself shows this NTP server as working just fine; but it looks like it's not enough. A second, public NTP server did the trick.

Hope this will help someone else.
