Mail displaying recipient not sender

Hi Mac Mail is showing the recipient of the email (invariably me ) in list of emails the middle pane rather than the sender. How do I chnage it to show the sender other than revert to Classic layout. Seems a silly way of laying out essential summary of list of emails sent to me.

Maybe I am being dumb!

It is daft, but seems to be true. Because I use my MacBook for business I noticed the problem minute by minute. However having recently spent some time at home on my iMAC I saw the problem of the re-setting "finds" happening - whereby the any find was wiped out by an apparently random screen refresh. However the issue of all emails appearing to come from me (instead of the actual sender) didn't occur - although the iMAC has no Exchange Accounts, so it maybe an interaction with Exchange and Keychain.

For what it's worth at this early stage I have NOT seen any of the symptoms on either machine since installing Yosemite. in fact I left a search live overnight on my iMAC and it was still there the next morning. So, fingers crossed!
