Not yet power back
Try pressing and holding both the sleep wake/power button and the home button at the same time.
See if you get it to power back up.
I try pressing and holding sleep wake/power butten allso the home butten too in the same time then apple lago comes on the screen but display not yet on

My battery level drops like a stone from fully charged. It often shuts down indicating flat battery at 42%. Once plugged into the charger it jumps back up to 45% - immediately. Can't really use it as it was intended. Have to keep turning it off so it doesn't run flat. I have always had iphones ever since they were launched. I am considering changing to another type of phone if I cannot resolve this issue. It has been worse since upgrading to recent iOS update. I have tried turning of background app sync, wifi and bluetooth - still the problem remains.
I find it hard to believe it is a battery problem, unless the iphone 5 battery has a design fault as it appears to be very common.
I have tried a soft reset on a few occassions, but the problem remains. My next step is to do a full reset, but I am not very optimistic.
O2 shop were no help at all. My nearest apple store is in Glasgow.
It's an expensive paperweight.
