Wrong ringtone

I installed a 3rd party ring tone (NCIS) to my IPhone 5, when selected to be the ringtone for phone calls it worked but also rings when an email comes in. I deselected the ringtone so it is not ,assigned to any sound choice but it still rings for emails. Is there a setting I missed? The only way to stop this is to remove the ringtone from the phone. I have shutdown the phone and restarted it ,but that did not change anything.

iPhone 5, iOS 6.1.4, Sprint network

I did all that, the imported ringtone appears in the list of sounds, with each action assigned different sounds other than the imported one not assigned to any action it still rings for email. The only way I can not have email ring other than the selected sound is to remove the imported ringtone. Very confusing.
