MY PASSPORT WD Drive not showing on my macbook but shows on others.

OMG! Boogshee was right. I sat wiggling the cable for a moment, and it finally mounted. I inserted the USB all the way and slowly pulled out a little at a time. Between each pull I waited a few seconds. It just barely needs to be pulled out and it will mount. This is ridiculous, but hey, it works! 🙂

I am trying your particular remedy and it does not seem to be recognised.

With the WD My Pass Ultra plugged in, the disk utility just keeps loading disks and never stops. When I slowly disconnect it, it starts to show the regular internal hard drive, and when I reconnect the WD hard drive nothing happens. I am really petrified of loosing the data that's on it.

Would you have any other tricks or suggestions to try?

This is unbelievable. After months of not being able to use my usb drive on my new MacBook pro, all of a sudden this simple solution works!

This actually worked for me. (Trying to use WD My Passport for Mac with a MacBook 12".) Does anyone know *why* this works? I feel like I basically just took out the N64 cartridge, blew on it, and shoved it back in.
