lost original file in Iphoto

Hi,


i moved my Iphoto folder to an external hard disc before i reinstalled macOS.

When i tried to import the library again i discovered that the original file was not there. And i could not click the command buttom and show package..

What can i do??

iPhoto '08, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I doubt it.


However, one more thing you can try is to download and use Find Any File to search for a couple of the missing files by file name. The thumbnail should still show the file name under it. If there is more than one copy of a file name check the FAF search window to see where they are located within the library package. If there's no occurrence of it in the Masters folder it's gone.


The search window will look something like this:

User uploaded file


If you find it in the Masters folder then it's there but no getting recognized by iPhoto or iPLM (which I said at the beginning is doubtful but worth a try).

Note the best and quickest recovery from this type of occurance is to restore your backup from just before it happened - if you do not have a backup you will lose your photos (actually you may have now) sooner of later - bad things do happen - you need to purchase an external hard drive 2 1/2 times the size of your main drive formatted Mac OS extended (journaled) and start usign Time Machine ASAP to avoid future loses
