I just tried downloading 0sx 10.5 to my computer running 10.4.11
so I can use migration to transfer to my new comoputer, but it says it failed to mount. When I click on the icon on the desktop it says not recognized. Any ideas?

10.5 (Leopard) is not a download. You need a disk to install it.

Leopard has never been available for download (only the later updates) and is no longer supplied by Apple.
You will need to find a black retail install disk on Amazon or eBay. Expect to pay around $200.

You can do a manual migration. Copy what files you want to a flash drive & copy to new machine.
Is it true that you need 10.5 to do the migration? Where did you see this?
Restore Tiger 10.4 & Leopard 10.5 DVDs are available from Apple by calling 800-767-2775 as of January 20, 2013.
