How can I import space delimited .txt or .csv files into numbers?

Aloha,

I have a bunch of data files that are space delimited and I want to put them into Numbers. Every time I try to open it, the data all goes into one single cell. I found that there are ways to do comma delimited and tab delimited, but nothing for space delimited. Is there any easy way to do this?

Tom,

Paste the space delimited file into a word processor such as Pages and replace the spaces with TABs using Find and Replace.

If you don't own Pages, you could do this in a Numbers Text Box, or in TextEdit.app.

In general, if you try to paste into a Numbers table and everything goes into one cell when you think it should go into multiple cells, you should make sure that you have just selected the cell, and not the text layer within the cell. One click will get the cell's attention, and a double-click will drill into the Text Layer of the cell, where you do not want to be.
