FCP 10.0.9 and NFS Disks

Have a linux box which exports NFS file systems. Trying to use one of these NFS mounted disks as a scratch disk for importing video into FCP where I can start editing video. Lots of problems. Sometimes it doesn't recognize the NFS file systems at all. Other times it will but other problems creep up prventing me from fully utilizing the NFS disks to store all of my video that I am working with using FCP.

Are there limitations to using NFS disks and FCP 10.0.9 ?

Thanks, Jim

FCP only works properly with Mac OS formatted drives.
